Our lovingly restored Victorian warehouse on the Old Kent Road, The Bottle Factory, was the perfect location for the launch of the world’s first Regenerative Architecture Index with special guest Brian Eno.

Brian joined sustainability expert and architect Michael Pawlyn in a lively and insightful Q&A which perfectly set the stage for an evening of celebration, where 11 trailblazing practices were honoured for their leadership in regenerative practice and the timely new Index was revealed.

The ‘Wildest and most Regenerative Hat’ competition was our surprise highlight of the night – trust us, it was quite something!

A huge shoutout to Architecture Today and UK Architects Declare – and their sponsor Interface – for initiating this pioneering new approach to benchmarking – shining a light on the aspects of practice that have real potential to meaningfully move the dial for the built environment industry.

Congrats as well to the front-runners We Made That, Studio Bark, Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios, Marks Barfield Architects, White Arkitekter, Project Orange, Assemble, Purcell, JTP, Exploration Architecture, Architype, and all the other practices that took part.

Sixty-eight organisations, ranging from sole practitioners to multi-disciplinary global brands, have taken part in the world’s first Regenerative Architecture Index.

Together, they have created a compendium of best practice, and an invaluable insight into the challenges and creativity involved in accelerating the transition to a regenerative, more equitable future.
