Symes Mews
We welcomed City and Guilds of London Art School’s 1st and 2nd-year BA Fine Art students to Symes Mews for their end of year show “From The Studio”. The exhibition showcased the remarkable work of over 45 art students, across a diverse range of mediums, from painting and sculpture to drawing and more.
‘Free for Purpose,’ a cornerstone of the Fabrix ethos, provides space and opportunities for local organisations, charities, schools, universities and colleges. This exhibition served as a pivotal part of the students’ “Professional Practice Programme,” meticulously designed to prepare them for successful careers in the art world.
Notably, six artists sold their work during the exhibition, which garnered substantial attention, drawing in local artists, gallerists, and art critics.
The private view alone saw an impressive 200 people in attendance, with additional visitors over the course of the exhibition. Symes Mews was a perfect setting, with one of the students commenting “Being able to showcase artwork in such a dynamic space really made it sing.”
Thanks to Bunny, Kate, Iris, Gwen, Rebecca, and Eleanor for their superb curation.
“Getting to exhibit in such a large and professional space has really helped my art practice. I’ve since met some curators and galleries for exciting connections.”
