Olwen House, a 16,000 sq ft former police premises arranged over ground and two upper floors. After acquisition the building was rebranded as The Binary embracing its history as a former cyber security and police premises. The rebrand included a mural covering the entire west façade celebrating both the history of the building and that of the local area.
Following a successful planning application for change of use from Sui Generis to B1 office accommodation the building was comprehensively refurbished. The refurbishment included a complete strip out of the existing fit out and focused on delivering light, height and volume into the space. Permission was also granted to install feature glazing across the perimeter of the entire building, including floor to ceiling windows on the Eastern elevation creating internal terraces looking out to the Shard. Additionally, the yard was converted from a car park into a garden for charities and local community groups and included installation of a full audio visual system.
Purchased, refurbished, rebranded, let and financed in 18 months. This former police premises is now headquarters to Leon Restaurants.
